Some feathered friends...

Wooooo Furiends....

I thought I'd show you a couple feathered friends of mine today.

This is a Raven, not my sister Raven, but a birdie. There are about 10 billion of them in the Yukon. Tons of them hang out in my yard. They really, really, really like dogger food! They are always trying to steal our dinner, our bones and they are always squawking! Boy, them are some noisy birds! We chase them, but they are smart and hard to catch!

We don't chase this guy! He's a bit scarey looking, dontcha think!? Having an eagle around sure does shut the ravens though! Even they won't mess with an eagle!

How I spent my birthday

Yesterday was my birthday! Yuppers, I am THREE!! Where has the time gone!?

I may be all growed up now, but I am still the Babydog!

I had a very fun birthday.

Here I am waiting for a special treat. Mom had her pockets stuffed full of yummy goodies!

Anvik came to visit me in my pen. He doesn't usually stay back in my pen. I showed him around and gave him a little chewing!

I chewed on Pacer for awhile too! Pacer loves it when I chew on him!

We even sang a little duet.."Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday, dear Tehya the Babydog, Happy Birthday to me!"

Today I got to go for walkies all by myself, just me and Mom! I don't know why no one else got to come too. No one is in trouble or anything like that. Musta just been my lucky day!

It's pretty on my trails right now. Lotssa colors! It's real windy today though so I think those pretty leaves will be on the ground soon!

We went to the lake. Mom says it will be too cold for swimming soon; its already too cold for humans to go swimming! So I figured I better get in a little dip!
I had lots of fun ripping around and I was very well behaved. I came back every time Mom called me and I was nice to these two little dog we ran into. They were littler than my cats! Maybe it's a good thing only I went on this walk. Some of my siblings might have mistook those wee dogs for squirrels or snacks!!!

Berry Picking

Me and Mom went berry picking today.

This is what we were looking for, low bush cranberries! They can be kinda hard to spot, cuz alot of red berries grow around here and some of them are yucky!!

Mom makes jam and muffins and stuff with the berries! Last year there was zillions of them around. We had to look a little harder this year. Cranberries do not like it when we have a hot, dry summer....neither does Mom come to think of it!

We wasn't looking for this, but we found some! Woo Hoooo, it's moose poop! We didn't see the moose today though; we never do when Mom has her camera!
Daisy likes berry picking. She gets to lay around alot! Mom always takes dogs with her when she goes berrypicking...cuz bears really like berries! We probably wouldn't be much help with a bear, but at least we would let her know one is coming!
I don't like laying around as much as Daisy. I was hunting mousies and chasing squirrels!

Mom got enough berries to do some baking. She already made two cranberry loaves and she froze some to use in the winter time. Tomorrow we might go check out a different cranberry picking patch!

Mom says I need to go to the lake.....I sorta rolled in some of that moose poop! All my doggy friends think I smell devine, but Mom says I need a bath or I'm sleeping outside!!

Out 'sploring with my Mom

I went 'sploring with Mom this afternoon.

We went on a new trail! I didn't even know there were more trails around here. I thought I had 'splored them all, but I guess not!

Of course, Daisy came too! Daisy always comes with us!

We found this stash of acorns. Khyra, I think an evil squirrel was stocking up for winter! I couldn't find him, but I chased a few of his buddies!

We walked a really long ways today! My Mom's friend is away and she is checking on their house. This trail took us kinda close to there! Mom was checking out the cranberries too. The crop ain't great this year, but we found some so we will probably have a cranberry picking adventure soon too!
Daisy had to take a little break. Mom thinks her shoulder was bugging her. Daisy just ain't made for ripping around all day, like me!

On our way home, we stopped and visited my Dad. He is fixing a roof just down the road from our house. That's my little friend, Tucker, in the picture. I like him. He follows me around. He's no Princess(and he has a nice family), but it was nice to get followed by a little dog again!

That Daisy, she just makes herself at home anywhere! She was lounging while I was checking on my Dad!

Then we came around a corner and Hey! That's my house!

It's a busy day around here...besides 'sploring, it's Anvik Day! He has lived here for three years. I am celebrating by chewing on him...like everyday! Plus we are waiting for nice Dr. Carolynne to come visit us. She is gonna steal some of Sleet's blood. When you are an ancient dog, you get your blood stolen alot it seems! Plus Dr. Carolynne is gonna check Franklin out. His fur and skin is just a nasty mess. She already gave him some medicine for that but I guess he needs some more or a different kind!

My heart is broken..

Sad woos my furiends

I found out tonight that my little shadow friend, Princess, has died. She escaped from her owner and she got run over. She was so little; she wouldn't have had a chance against a car!! Me and Mom are so very sad. Mom's face just won't stop leaking. Our hearts are broken.

Godspeed, Little Princess. I will miss you, my friend.

Visitors!

I couldn't post last week cuz I was busy with some visitors!

Those kids that my Mom is so fond of came to visit us again. Their Mom didn't come this time. They flew on a plane all by themselves! Then my Grandpawents came and picked them up a few days later!

We had lots of fun with them! I love kids! They have almost as much energy as me!
Anvik likes them too! He just can't get enough cuddling!

Those kids even used our dog cart. That's good that it got used, cuz we all hate it! Mom says it was a big waste o' money!

My brofurr, Chum, had to go to the vet while those kids were there. He had a nose bleed. That's never good for a dogger! Unfortunately, we found out yesterday that he is really, really sick and he probably won't be with us for too much longer. He has a big cancer tumor in his belly, on his liver and his spleen. I am very sad about that cuz me and Chum are good buddies, but Mom says she is gonna keep him comfy for as long as she can. Maybe we will get more time than the vet thinks! Doesn't he look happy snuggling with that Hannah kid?

I hope those kids come back and play with us again next summer!
